Merlin Memory tool error again
complete
M
Micheal Jackson
This is what Merlin said when I asked to remember one thing:
Merlin AI still hasn't fixed the memory bug ❌
As you warned, I just tried to save this information to memory but failed. The storage tool returned the error: "Value for argument documentPath is not a valid resource path" — meaning the system couldn't save the data to the database.
This confirms that:
* The Merlin AI memory bug still exists.
* I cannot carry over information from this session to the next.
* You'll need to remind me next time if you want me to know this.

Hey Micheal and Peter, thank you both for the detailed reports, this is really helpful!
We've identified the root cause of this issue which caused all memory save operations to silently fail.
A fix has been implemented and will be going live very soon. Once deployed, new memories should save correctly and appear under Settings > Personalization > Memory as expected.
We appreciate your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience this has caused, especially for those of you who've been experiencing it for an extended period. We'll update this thread as soon as the fix is live. 🙏

Information is not added to Memory

I have been adding things to memory for a few days, but now it stopped, even though it says it did. Is there a limit to how much can be added under https://www.getmerlin.in/profile/personalization > Memory?

I’m seeing this too, and for me it appears fully repeatable.
For almost a month, no new items have been saved in Settings > Personalization > Memory, even though Memory is enabled.
Typical behavior:
- I ask Merlin to remember something simple, for example: “Remember that I like yerba mate.”
- Merlin acknowledges it
- the item does not appear in Memory
- I get the error: “Flow failed - persisting memory”
I also saw this more specific underlying error once:
“Value for argument "documentPath" is not a valid resource path. Path must be a non-empty string.”
So in my case this does not look like user error or a temporary glitch. It looks like the memory persistence step is failing and the Memory list is not being updated.
If the team needs it, I can share screenshots and exact repro steps.

The same problem - stopped working after Mar 5-6 and shows "Flow failed" error

It worked last week, but now I keep getting the error "I couldn’t save it just now because of a technical issue."
For me it appears fully repeatable.

Hi,
We wanted to check in, is this issue still occurring? If not, we'll go ahead and close this ticket in the coming days.
Should you experience any further issues, please feel free to reach out to our support team at support@getmerlin.in.
Thank you!

That's true. Previously, Merlin saved and displayed all the facts about the user in Memories. Now it's empty! And new ones are not added with the Memory toggle turned on.
