Today, we're replacing our legacy product with a new Agentic Chat — where every conversation becomes a symphony of Merlin features.
Here's what changes:
- Merlin now thinks ahead for you. Need current data? It searches automatically. Want to visualize complex information? It creates Crafts without being asked.
- Your simple question can now trigger a collection of tools working together—Live Search gathering fresh insights, Reasoning models analyzing deeply, and Crafts bringing it all to life, all in one request.
Some great usecases we've found out:
- Try asking Merlin to generate multiple positioning ideas for your brand, attaching its website/documentation, coming up with 5 different ad asset ideas, and generating all those images in one go.
- Turn on Social focus mode + o4-mini, and watch Merlin do a Deep-Research level social analysis on any topic.
However, this intelligence comes with slightly higher usage (3-10x base cost for search-heavy tasks), but here's the magic: even our affordable models like Gemini 2.5 Flash now function at par with expensive reasoning models of yesterday. Every query has the potential to become a research task or a creative workflow.

We’ll slowly phase out ways for users to better be able to use this new Chat, including ways to enter into cost-efficient modes, tune up effort for complex tasks, and change the way our paid plans work, to better support our users’ needs on Merlin.
