Develop an intuitive digital library system that empowers users to curate and engage with their own personalized knowledge repository. This feature will enhance user experience by facilitating easy import and management of diverse types of content.
Key Features:
Comprehensive Import Options:
Users should be able to seamlessly import a variety of content types, including:
Text notes
Images
Web links
Documents (e.g., PDFs, Word files)
Audio and video files
Integration with popular platforms such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, and Microsoft OneDrive for efficient file imports.
User-Friendly Chrome Extension:
A dedicated Chrome extension that allows users to:
Save webpages, articles, and links directly to their digital library with a single click.
Capture and annotate content, such as highlighting text or adding personal notes before saving.
Organize saved items into customizable categories or tags for easy retrieval and management.
Personalized Organization:
Users can create collections, folders, or tags to categorize their items effectively.
Advanced search functionality to locate specific items quickly based on keywords, tags, or content types.
Interactive Engagement:
Allow users to annotate, comment on, and reflect upon their saved items.
Options for collaboration, where users can share collections with friends or colleagues and provide comments or feedback.
Offline Access:
Enable offline access to the digital library, allowing users to view their collections without an internet connection.
Cross-Platform Synchronization:
Ensure that the digital library is accessible across multiple devices (desktop, tablet, mobile) with automatic synchronization of content.
Data Privacy and Security:
Implement robust data protection measures to keep user data secure.
Provide users with control over data sharing and privacy settings.

Hey team. Any possibility of incorporating a button on the chrome extention to automatically save files, links, snippets, images to a collection from the web ?
Eg....article ....highlight "add to Merlin project X" ........or save YouTube video to Merlin project Y or save picture to Melting project X?

Sam Leon also in general wanted to thank you for such a detailed feedback; cheers :)

Sam Leon We are working on some of them you will have them once pushed to production;
Interactive Engagement, Offline Access, Cross-Platform Synchronization - will discuss with team and check for feasibility
Data Privacy and Security - what all things would you be expecting? would love to know if you have anything specific in mind, thanks.

endu Need to be able to delete anything we upload.
Need it written in Terms that data will not be shared with AI providers. Or is this already the case?
Sam Leon
Guy thanks Guy. Yes exactly this .....let's say I add a phone bill for Sonnet to analyse ....the data or the document cannot be shared or accessed by the Merlin team or a third party
Sam Leon
endu I think the easiest win is to be to collect videos , pdfs, links and images in one folder (which Merlin already does) but have them in a folder (together) so that we can chat or interact with that collection.

Siddhartha
Yes Guy, we can do this manually but exposing this has been a bit of work (delete from chat-context, vector embeddings related to it, the document itself), so we are going to be live with projects and have this functionality there itself.
endu
Sam Leon: this we have already built, testing out few things, you will have this ability very soon in beta as part of Knowledge Base(RAG system) :)
endu
Guy: That would be possible if its is your home made AI model and running on data on premise; Thats kind of the solution that makes economical sense for large enterprise ... but we brainstorm once what or how can we bring in more data privacy rules into the Merlin system... and for the delete thing we will implement once we have some bandwidth.

endu 😲 amazing 😍

Guy
endu Wait, so are you saying that the AI companies CAN use what we upload or type to train their AI models, and they have access to what we input?
Because when I bought Merlin, I was told they DO NOT have access and what I input will NOT be used for training.
S
Siddhartha
Hey Guy , whatever data that you upload is not sent to the LLM providers but some context is sent to the providers which is necessary to answer the query (otherwise LLMs can't answer the query without any context). Although this data is completely un-linked from any userids or emails that might associate it to you.
These providers are also a part of our DPA https://drive.google.com/file/d/124S1HE9SCigGQlYurG_FRcNNtkT3YHcw/view which is linked on our web-site and present in the web-site footer.
In terms of training, no data is used for training as that is part of our agreement with the LLM providers and neither do we train on these inputs.

Siddhartha Ah, great. Thank you for clarifying!
