At the time due to the alternative apps that are available Merlin doesn't appear to want to go that way.

is this going to happen?
Kira Kenjiro
_m_ By the lack of a response from Endu and the team, I'm assuming no. I guess we just carry on asking until us devs get an extension.
Or someone will make a FOSS extension, if I was to make a extension for the API specifically would people appreciate that, as I don't mind pouring some time into that.

I believe this feature is a trend, after all, as a complete AI assistant, helping with programming should be a very basic function.
In addition, if this feature only appears in the highest tier subscription, it will definitely increase the number of subscribers.

Yes!!!!! endu Please make this happen!! You could add so much market share with developers if you could create this plugin for VS Code.

yes yes yes! i think this is a great idea and should 100% be added! Merlin has a great portfolio of AI tools, why not add a vscode extension?

Gonna put my say this here, rather than open a new ticket.
Feature Request
It'd be great if Merlin had a tool like
Copilot
or
Cursor
, especially
something similar to Cursor
. I love to use tools like these when I'm coding, but I don't want to pay extra for another plugin (E.g. Copilot). Given how comprehensive Merlin already is, adding such a tool would really lock in developers as a key audience. Right now, Merlin's built-in compiler isn't the most optimised.Suggested Features
- Referencing Capabilities
It would be helpful to have features like referencing specific files, code blocks, libraries, and documentation. This includes linking to a local or online PDF/Markdown file to give the AI more context.
- Premium Scanning Feature
It would also be nice to have a premium feature that allows for larger scanning. Unlike the free version, a premium user. The plugin would scan more files to better understand the project's architecture and structure before returning a snippet or answer.
